The Empire State Building shined its world-famous tower lights in green to celebrate the New York Jets season opener on Sept. 9.
Earlier that day, New York Jets legend Bart Scott and the Townsend Harris Girls Flag Football Team of Queens visited the building to flip the switch in a lighting ceremony to mark the occasion.
After the ceremony, Scott and the team toured the Observatory's immersive exhibits and posed for photos.
The Townsend Harris Girls Flag Football Team of Queens are the reigning champions of the Varsity Girls Flag Football League. With the support of the New York Jets, the sport was adopted as an official high school championship sport in both New York and New Jersey in 2024.
