ESB Lights Up to Celebrate "The Six Triple Eight"

On Monday, Dec. 16, the Empire State Building shined its world-famous tower lights in army green, blue, white, and red to celebrate the release of ‘The Six Triple Eight,’ in partnership with Netflix and the United Service Organizations.

Earlier that day, actor and filmmaker Tyler Perry and actresses Kerry Washington and Ebony Obsidian visited the building to flip the famous light switch and tour the building's immersive exhibits and iconic 86th and 102nd Floor Observatories.

Based on the real-life Central Postal Directory Battalion in World War II, “The Six Triple Eight” tells the story of the all-Black, all-female postal unit in the U.S. Army renowned for their crucial role in clearing a massive backlog of mail for American troops in Europe.
