ESB Shines for SNL's 50th Anniversary!

Everyone's favorite sketch comedy show turns 50.

On Feb. 16, the Empire State Building’s world-famous tower lights lit up in yellow, orange, red, purple, blue, green, and gold to celebrate "Saturday Night Live’s" 50th anniversary.

SNL will mark its 50th anniversary with a celebratory weekend that culminates in a live three-hour primetime special airing Sunday, Feb. 16, from 8 to 11 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock.

The Empire State Building hosted a lighting ceremony with current SNL cast members, Chloe Fineman, Mikey Day, and Sarah Sherman, who flipped the famous light switch.

After the ceremony, the group toured the Observatory Experience – which was recently named the #1 attraction in the World in Tripadvisor’s 2024 Travelers’ Choice Awards: Best of the Best Things to Do, and #1 Attraction in the U.S. for the third consecutive year – and posed for photos on the building’s 86th Floor and 102nd Floor Observatories.
