Half man; half dog; all hero.
On Friday, Jan. 31, the Empire State Building’s world-famous tower lights lit up in blue and yellow in partnership with Scholastic to celebrate the theatrical release of DreamWorks Animation’s "DOG MAN" and in honor of the “Celebrating Heroes Around the World” campaign.
That morning, "DOG MAN" star Pete Davidson and creator Dav Pilkey flipped the switch in a lighting ceremony and toured the Empire State Building Observatory Experience. Following the lighting ceremony, Scholastic hosted a "DOG MAN" pop-up and book signing with Pilkey on the 86th Floor Observatory.
Adapted from Pilkey’s #1 bestselling book series beloved by kids and families worldwide, “DOG MAN” follows a half canine, half human superhero as he pursues feline supervillain Petey the Cat, voiced by Davidson. This special tower lighting is part of the international “DOG MAN: Celebrating Heroes Around the World” campaign, to shine a spotlight on everyday heroes who make a positive impact in their own communities.
