The Empire State Building shined its world-famous tower lights in blue and red to celebrate 40 years of Billy Idol’s hit album “Rebel Yell” in late April.
The punk rocker visited the building for a lighting ceremony and exclusive fan event on the 80th Floor, where he performed acoustic versions of “Rebel Yell,” “Eyes Without a Face,” and “White Wedding” with longtime collaborator, Steve Stevens.
Just before he flipped the famous switch, Idol reflected on how the album helped to shape the punk rock scene in New York City.
