Shutterbugs from across the globe sent in their finest shots of the “World’s Most Famous Building” with hopes to clinch the top prize of $5,000.

WHAT IS THE EMPIRE STATE BUILDING PHOTO CONTEST?
The Empire State Building Photo Contest honors the beauty and majesty of the Empire State Building through the lens of its fans. It offers a unique chance for photographers of all skill levels to display their artistic abilities and capture breathtaking images of the landmark and its Observatory Experience, which was recently voted the number one attraction by Tripadvisor travelers for the second consecutive year. The contest encourages individuals to unleash their creativity and share their distinct views of the building, which makes it a truly inclusive, authentic event.
This year’s entry categories included:
- ESB x City Wide – pictures of ESB surrounded by the New York City landscape
- Beginner Entry – shots from photo newbies
- Observatory Views – features ESB’s iconic views taken from one of the Observatories
- Sunset & Sunrise – photos of or from ESB during the golden hours
- Smartphone Shot – snaps taken with an iPhone or similar
- Photoshop/Edit – creative edits from unique backgrounds to starry night skies
- Weather Shot – captures of the building under rain, sleet, snow, or rainbow
- Nightscapes – shots of the building lit up after sunset
- Video – 30 second video clips of ESB in all her glory
- Youth – a new category for videos and photos from ESB’s 13-17-year-old fans
- General Entry – shots that don’t fit any of the above categories

This year's contestants submitted photos in respective categories in September, and the public voted for their favorites through the Empire State Building’s social media channels.
